Excel 2016 - No Intellisense and Missing Menu Item

Excel 2016 Power Query No Predictive Text & Missing Menu Item - I posted in the wrong forum (Excel) so here now.

I am using Excel 2016 64 bit, I have tried repair via the online version and without, Formulas is ticked.

I do not get predictive text in the formula bar for example is I start to type Table. no suggestions/options drop, tab is not working also (no dot used) so it is making it extremely frustrating to learn M code. (Edit: Since learnt this is called IntelliSense)

What haven't I enabled? Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Hi @AussieBec ,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft Fabric Community,
Since IntelliSense isn’t working even though it's enabled, here are a few things to check:

1. Try using the Custom Column dialog or the Advanced Editor.

Check if predictive suggestions(Intellisense) appear in either of those - this helps isolate whether it’s a UI-specific issue.

2. Try updating Excel

Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.

A partial or outdated install can sometimes cause editor features to not load correctly.

Also, just a quick note:

Power Query IntelliSense is only available in Excel 365 (subscription versions). It’s not supported in one-time purchase versions like Excel 2016 or 2019, even though they share the same version number (16.0).
