Event based scheduled refresh

How can i do event based scheduled refresh of Power BI Reports in Import mode.

For my condition Once the data updates in the SQL database server then Power BI report should start refreshing by a trigger as well.

Hi @Anonymous ,

As far as I know, currently it is not supported toautomatically refresh within that moment like a trigger when updating SQL database under import mode.

Perhaps you can submit the requirement to ideas and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas

It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

You likely want to use Power Automate, which has an action to refresh a Power BI dataset.  The key will be to come up with the right trigger.  Not sure what your options are, but if you can get an automated email, or create/update a file on SharePoint, you can trigger the flow.  Many other options too.

Thanks ,

I tried with power automate.

How ever in flow we only gets weekly /daily or hourly trigger options.

Is there any way , if i make any update on my MS SQL database it should automatically refresh within that moment like a trigger.
