Data refresh and publish problems

Hi,

I have created a report in Power Bi to show data relations for my company.

The data is continuously uploaded to a server and to make it so that we do not have to manually get the data everytime something changes we put it up on a live web page. Now I have set up a "template" of visualizations that are updated via refresh, this is all working in Power Bi desktop. Everytime I refresh, the data is updated and numbers etc change to show the newest numbers.

The problem I am dealing with is that we are publishing this report online for other staff members to view so I publish the report to Power Bi Web and from there I "publish to web" to the url that is shared with everyone, when I refresh in Power Bi Web the report does not update, and neither does the publish to web url.

So basically Power Bi Desktop updates and all the new info gets added automatically to the right visuals but nothing happens in the Power Bi Web app or the published link from "Publish to web"

Has somebody encountered this problem or knows a solution to it ?

Hi @atlij,

As per this document, data refreshes are automatically reflected in your embedded report or visual,  after refresh occurs in Power BI Service reports , it can take approximately 1 hour for refreshed data to be visible from embed codes.

Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
