Column Quality shows Empty but can see data

I am connecting to a Web URL.  In the data I have a column that clearly shows there is data.  But when I try to make a change, the data disappears.  What is happening?  I can't remove this column as I need it for my reports.

I can't give you access to the data.  I am connecting via web online to our Informer database.  Interestingly, it doesn't work if I use csv as the connection.  It does work when I use json.

All I did was try to promote the headers.  After I read in the data it doesn't matter what step I do next.  The data disappears.
