Greeting Friends,
i have one technical question.
Current we want to connect our ERP Systeme to Power BI via SQL.
Our IT Department is not sure, if POWER Bi can change the database.
In my opinion this is not possible, because Power BI only get da Query Connection.
Of course via import, or query. But both witout rights to change the database.
Can anyone give information about this?
Many thanks for your answers.
Best Regards pascal

Queries do not have write capabilities, only read.
Hi guys,
It is not documented, but there is such opportunity. See this thread - http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Native-Database-Query-Error/m-p/381860#M41935 . You can write update, truncate, insert and other queries which can change a database via Native Query (advanced option which allows you to enter a query to a database).
Regards,
Ruslan
