QR Report links opening in app on mobile device but i want them to open in browser

I have some parameterized URLs that I would like to open in Chrome on my mobile device rather than in the PowerBI App which doesn't support those parameters.

Is there a way I can force this to happen?

There's currently no way to distinguish between paginated reports that will open in the app and ones that will open in a browser based on some URL tweaking unfortunately.

A client-side manual workaround will be to completley disable app links (Android) or universal links (iOS) but it will cause all links not to open in the app and will make users not get the mobile optimized experience we provide thru the native apps.

Thanks, erezone.

  • I am trying to open paginated reports with pameters
  • I generated the QR codes with a free online service, QRCode Monkey (https://www.qrcode-monkey.com/)
  • I am using my phone's camera app to to scan them, although our expectation is that these codes might be scanned by a large variety of devices and applciations.

Although I understand that the app doesn't support report links with parameters, most internet browsers will.  My hope was that there might be some way to be selective about which links open in the app, and which links open in the browser.

Which kind of reports are you trying to open? Are these Power BI reports or paginated reports with parameters?

How did you generate those QRs and how are you scanning them? Which app is used for scanning?

We currently don't support opening paginated reports links with parameters with the Power BI mobile app but have it in our plans.
