Power BI App Cache Data encryption

Hi

We are interested in Power BI App (SSRS on premise solution ) within our organisation. The Power BI App will be installed on our corporate devices.

As Power BI App stores the data on the devices and want to know if the offline data stored on devices are encrypted or not?

Thanks

Neena

Hi Neena,

no the cache is not encrypted and as far as I know there is no way to switch it off;-(

If you find a way to get rid of the cache our data security experts would be happy to know;-))

Best regards

Stephan

Hi @Neena,

I haven't found anything mentioned the encryption on the document, I also can't find the cache path, I think they will be encrypted by default.

In addition, if you don't want to keep these cache data, you can turn off the background refresh feature.

Hi Xiaoxin,

Thanks for your response.

Do you mean to disable the option 'Enable client data caching' in SQL Server Mobile Report Publisher for each report?

Hi @Neena,

Sorry for that, after double check I only find the button to turn off the background refresh.

I'm not sure if the SSRS setting can affect power bi cache feature, perhaps you can try it.
