Mobile layout deleted when disabling comments

Hi all,

I think I may have found a bug, but I'm looking for a workaround.  The problem is when I modify the report settings in PBI service to disable user comments, it completely deletes my mobile layout.  The strange part is that it doesn't do it right away, it's only after several minutes that it disappears.  I have to republish the report to get the mobile layout back.  This is not the behavior I expect so I think it's a bug.  But what can I do about it in the meantime?  My users are expecting that this report is showing ONLY their data so I don't want them using the comments to record information they think is private to them.

Thank you!

  • Hi crombilizer ,

That does seem like a unique bug.  I suggest that you go to submit a ticket for this.  Power BI
If you don't have access to that, then you can create an "Idea" and mark it as a "Bug".

  • Hi crombilizer ,
Please consider reaching out to Microsoft Support. You can provide them with all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken, which will help them understand the issue better and provide a resolution. They might be able to identify something specific about your admin account setup or provide a solution that isn't immediately obvious.

  • Hi crombilizer

Could you please confirm if the issue has been resolved after raising a support case? If a solution has been found, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share your insights with the community. This would be helpful for other members who may encounter similar issues.

Thank you for your understanding and assistance.

  • It sounds like a bug. Disabling comments shouldn't delete the mobile layout. As a temporary workaround, avoid changing that setting in the Service after publishing, and report it to Microsoft Support since it appears to be a service-side issue. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.
