Usage metrics report datasets broken

We've noticed a number of bugs relating to usage reports, mainly around the datasets:

  1. In the new usage report, the 'Save a copy' option in the File dropdown doesn't appear until the page is refreshed
  2. When using the 'View dataset' option in either the old or new usage report, we get a 'request build permissions' message, even when admin on the workspace, and after having taken over the dataset. Access request comes through to me after taking over, but I can't grant access, as I get the same permissions.

  3. The dataset does not display on the workspace, in either lineage or list view (unless the report has been saved to a different workspace). We can only access settings by navigating to Settings > Power BI Settings > Datasets > Usage Metrics Report. The dataset for the old version (Report Usage Metrics Report) doesn't appear here at all. While we can control certain settings here, we cannot control access to build off the dataset. The message below indicates that we should be able to edit these settings, but if the dataset doesn't appear in the workspace, this is going to be difficult for users:

  4. If I switch from the new to old, or old to new version, both reports appear in the report selector. If I then use these, the 'New report usage off' switch can be in the wrong place, toggling it then causes the report to close.

    Repro steps:
    1. Open the usage report
    2. Click the 'New report usage off' to open the other version
    3. Use the report selector to switch to the first report opened
    4. Click the 'New report usage off' switch again
    5. Report closes unexpectedly

Hi  @JoshT ,

Can you provide detailed version information for Power BI Service  so we can reproduce the issue? We'll get back to the product team as soon as it's acknowledged as an issue!
Thanks in advance!

Best regards.

Hi @JoshT ,

We were unable to reproduce this issue, do other users in your organization have the same situation?

Best regards.

Hi @Anonymous , yes we've tried with other users and all of them have been able to repro the issue.

Even I am facing the same issue, is it resolved specifically the second issue mentioned. Is there a solution for the second case if the admin is facing the same issue what can be done?

Same problem here regarding the second and third issue, I cannot access the "usage report" dataset even as the workspace admin.

Service version:13.0.21721.87
Client version:2310.1.16035-train

Same problem here. I get the popup to request build access even though I own the workspace. Power BI sends an email to me (as the workspace owner) asking me to give myself permission.  I grant myself permission but this has no affect and I am unable to access the usage metrics semantic model.

Service version:13.0.22007.81

This is happening for me too, exactly how jonf describes it ... very peculiar.
