The Power BI Tenant Settings API is not returning the expected response

We are experiencing an issue with the Get Tenant Setting API (Tenants - List Tenant Settings - REST API (Admin)-https://api.powerbi.com/v1/admin/tenantsettings), where the response structure has changed unexpectedly.

  • Previously, the API returned tenant settings under the key 'tenantSettings' (as expected by our implementation).
  • Recently, the response structure changed, and the settings are now returned under the key 'value' instead of 'tenantSettings'.
  • This change is not documented and is causing deserialization issues in our connector. As a result, the connector is unable to process Power BI tenant settings correctly.

Could you please confirm if this change is intentional? If so, can you update the official API documentation accordingly? If it was unintentional, please advise on the resolution.

Looking forward to your response.

Hi @KKSKR

Given the lack of official documentation on this change, it would be best to reach out to Microsoft support or the Power BI team to confirm whether this change is intentional and to request an update to the official API documentation.

You can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.

It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

Thank you for your understanding.
