Since around March 7th, 2025, WebView2 has been crashing a lot on my computer. It happens while I have a Power BI report open in Power BI Desktop in the background (maybe just for 15 minutes) while I do other work in Excel/Chrome etc. All open Power BI Desktop windows crash simultaneously, so the popup appears maybe 10 times and when I close them, all Power BI Desktop windows are then closed.

Experiencing the issue. I'm at a corporate fortune 500 type job where IT controls the versions that are installed. Currently I am running Version: 2.138.1452.0 64-bit (November 2024). Please let me know how I can help.

I don't know what actually caused this error since I did not do anything out of the ordinary. All I know is the Outlook desktop app blipped, then all of a sudden Power BI Desktop went black with the following message:

Upon clicking "Get in touch", I was brought to this very old and presumably "Delivered" issue.

Why am I being linked to an issue from 2022 in the year 2025?

I re-installed Webview2 and the problem was resolved.

The problem was resolved when I upgraded Power BI to January 2025 PBI version. Thank you
