Power BI Desktop WebView2 crash

🆘Issue Summary: 2025-05-05 - got new version of Teams - and since then my daily 5-10 crashes has stopped. (you know the version where they forced your TEAMS in TEAMS under chats, so you had to go into settings and select that you want your TEAMS as TEAMS in the TEAMS app.

Random crashes with Power BI Desktop, sometimes within 30 seconds, sometimes after a few hours. Error: Microsoft.PowerBI.Modeler.ModelingASOperationException (long stack trace). Also get crashes referencing WebView2 error messages. The issue affects both parent and child reports. Seems to occur more often with multiple reports open - what make it worse:

1) Remote Desktop will make it Crash 10x more often if both power bi and RDP was open

2) multiple Powerbi reports, like if you want to do something obscene like copy past between them.

3) Teams - just like RDP - this will increase the crashes 10x

2025-05-07 Since the new Teams version came out 2025-05-05  i think I have had ZERO crahes... well that only took you 1,5 years to fix my daily living hell.

2025-05-05 New version of Teams seems to fix it

2024-04-09 Got a new computer from IT with Windows 11 (same as colleague’s setup). Issue still persists. Higher frequency of crashes when 2+ reports open at once.

2023-12-20 Updated WebView2 to v120.0.2210.77. Colleague (same setup) doesn’t have the issue, even when I log in on their machine. IT suggests wiping and reinstalling or replacing computer.

2023-12-11 Tried the following (none worked): Update WebView2 (v120.0.2210.61) Uninstall/reinstall Power BI (via website & MS Store) Opened Power BI with no data loaded – still crashes Ran sfc /scannow

2023-12-06 Issue started around Dec 4–5. Deleted the problematic DAX measure that first triggered the error, but crashes continue. Reinstall attempts didn’t help. Opening older master files still causes crashes.
