I am working with "Analyze in Excel" connections a lot.
I have most recent updates installed (including Analyse in Excel OLEDB).
Many times after I close a file with connection to a dataset, the Excel stops responding and all of my open files crash, too.
It is very annoying - please help.

It works well on my side, I use excel 2016.
Try to update your Excel or uninstall and reinstall then try it again.
if still have the problem, I would suggest you post your problem in O365 community formu, it more related to this problem.
