Date format is converted when publishing from Power BI Desktop to Power BI Service

Issue1.png

Screen shot shows what the date slicer is in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. I've checked setting on my browser and PBI Desktop and both say English (UK).

What is your data source here? You can try to add ?lanauge=en-GB in browser to force the language setting - app.powerbi.com?language=en-GB

Or change the browser language to English (United Kingdom).

My data source was a cube in SQL Server Analysis Services, I also tested this with Excel data and it did the same thing. I checked all my application and browser language settings and they were all Enlgish (UK).

The link that you supplied "app.powerbi.com?language=en-GB" works perfectly - thank you for that.

My only comment would be that it would be great to have a setting in Power BI Service where the user can choose the language, rather than 'forcing' the language through.

Many thanks,

Simon

Actually, there is an issue created before for this and the Power BI Team are planning to add such a feature. But as far as I know, there is no specific timeline for it now.

Best Regards,

Herbert
