Date format changes when publishing report

Hi all,

So I've seen similar questions asked on the forums but none that are the same as mine.

In a report i have the date set like so

ML__0-1637163600777.png

However when published the same report has the data set like:

ML__1-1637163601097.png

As you can see the day name appears evn though with the powerbi report the date format is set to dd mmmm yyyy.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it?

Hi @Anonymous

Please try the solution here.

  • In the power bi service, select language as default browser language

  • Search your browser settings for language, choose the language as same as your Power BI Desktop used
  • Then relaunch the browser and checked whether the reports will show date format as expected

@v-cazheng-msft Thanks for replying. I'm afraid that still didnt work. I made sure the language settings for powerbi service, power bi desktop, Windows settings and Browser settings were all the same and its still showing the day name.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for your feedback! Could you please provide the version of your Power BI Desktop and a link of a sample pbix file with this issue so I can test at my side and escalate it to our internal team when needed?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I faced a similar issue with a previous Power BI Desktop version.

Please check if the solution I published in this post can be adapted to your case. I guess the logic is very similar although the starting and ending languages are different (Portuguese to English in my case, EN to EN in yours).

Best regards
