I am not able to see the Refresh option in Fields section of the PowerBI desktop for one of my dataset. Does anyone know why is this happening? it is showing for other datasets.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Got it now.. sorry.. I should be Importing instead of Direct Query.
I have a Power BI report where the data sources are Direct Query and they DO have the "refresh" option when you right click on the data source.

@A30007479 can you clarify what you mean by "Fields section"? A screenshot would be helpful....
"Refresh" would typically only apply to a table, not to a field within a table.
I mean the below highlighted section. If i right click on the data set i normally get the option to refresh that dataset only but for somehow i am not getting it for one of the dataset.
@A30007479 I don't see a screenshot in your post, so I'm going to have to continue guessing at what you mean...
The "Refresh data" option for a single table is available when right-clicking on a table name, but not when right-clicking on a field name.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. Not sure why screen shot is not coming through but i am talking about the 1st option where i right click on table but it is not showing me the refresh data option.
@A30007479 and the storage mode of this table is "Import", not "DirectQuery", right?
No.. it is direct Query
Ok, well then there's your answer. Refresh is not really even applicable to DQ, since the source is being queried every time a visual is updated.
