Button - alignment and rounding issues with Sept 21 release

With the new update for buttons, we have two issues with formatting. Both of these are with the rectangle shape, but may apply on others.

1) For text, if there's any word wrapping then the left or right alignment is ignored and it is only centered. Prior to the latest button release this wasn't an issue. After the Sept Desktop release, this is the same behavior in both desktop and the service.

2) Round Edges doesn't seem to apply any longer. See screenshot with 9px rounding that shows correctly within the desktop app, but not in the service.

We are also seeing this exact same issue!  In addition to the corners no longer being rounded, it seems like the padding update for buttons is either causing text to be pushed to a second line and/or being vertically bottom aligned, and some text that used to perfectly fit in the buttons is now pushed over and split across 2 lines (again guessing because of new padding addition) - any update from Microsoft would be great!

A similar issue has also been reported internally, so stay tuned.

We are still seeing square buttons in embedded reports. None of the new button shapes are respected in embedded reports. If a border is applied the button will be rounded, but then the text drops to the bottom of the button and is not legible. The Shape Shadow does not work in embedded or in the service. Please fix these bugs! It looks bad for our customers and it is very frustrating as a developer as there is no fix.

Microsoft Team please fix this bug!
Still waiting, no updates.
Day after day.

Does anyone knows any means to temporarily workaround this issue?

@euzebyolyra This is an extremely annoying issue. We are facing the same problem since so many days. The boxes look very ugly and old school.

There is a temporary workaround for this issue. The rounding problem is on the outline of the button. What you could use is the border feature and round the borders. There does not seem to be any issue with rounded borders.

@shreyas4315 It's a good idea for temporarary workaround.

There's no issue with round borders when published.

But it stills lacks of complete hover effect for a button with only borders and no outline round edges.

Even so, thanks!!

@euzebyolyra Yep I totally understand. There is no hover effect with the borders.
Our reports specially use the hover effect for page navigation, etc.

Additionally we already have so many reports published that we cannot change the outline to border in every report.

It is so frustrating that Microsoft is still not updating an ETA for this issue.

The issue is with Shape and shape formatting properties,

on older versions there was no shape or shape properties you can make a rounded edges by changing the outline properties, on the new update you get

which does not exist on older versions of PowerBI desktop.

According to my test, the button loses all it's shape properties , Shape, Shadow and glow

the issue started with the recent update due to inconsistencies between the older settings and the new ones.

looking forward to an update from Microsoft

Hi,

I’ve got this message from pg:

I've responded to CSS to post comms.  Again, this issue only occurs when the text wraps across multiple lines and the icon alignment isn't set (default case).  To mitigate before the fix deploys, either reduce the text or increase the button width such that the text fits onto one line.

Again, the text issue is that on older versions there was only padding but on new version there is only margins on 4 sides
