Bookmark navigator - groups bug (v2.100 Dec 2021)

There is a remaining bug with the bookmark navigator within the December 2021 release.

Whilst the December 2021 version fixed an initial bug from the November 2021 release that left the previously selected bookmark highlighted, there is another more subtle bug that remains. Namely, when selecting a bookmark that is not in the bookmark group associated with the bookmark navigator, it resets to the last saved bookmark.

Will this also fix the double click bug?

If you double click on a option in the bookmark navigator it deactivates all the highlighted button even though the correct bookmark is still selected??

Hi! I'd just like to add - I have a similar setup to drscott and have the same interaction in PBI Desktop. It seems to show up differently for the same .pbix file in the Power BI Service versions of both the workspace and app reports. 

In the app - When I hit my "Help" button equivalent to drscott, the bookmark navigator is totally deselected (allow deselection is off) and doesn't have any saved bookmark selected.

In the workspace - The same deselection occurs, but even more weird, when I close the 'Help' menu, if I click any bookmark but the default first bookmark, the navigator shows the first bookmark as selected, whilst showing the display state of the actual bookmark I selected. 

Could this interaction please be checked as part of the March fix? 

@drscott I'm not sure if you've already flagged this too, but when you hit your "Close help" button are you finding it deselects your bookmark navigator between Shirt/Bike too, but only in the Service?

Hello @Anonymous  - it is the same for me. The reason for the difference appears to be because a patch has been released to the PBI service, but the Desktop application is awaiting the next release (latest version is still Dec 2021). 

@v-yingjl  - can the above be confirmed? Secondly, I would like to clarify that if the bookmark navigator is completely deselected because another bookmark (outside of that group of bookmarks) is selected, then this (whilst an improvement) is still not an acceptable solution. An acceptable solution is to have the bookmark navigator persistently showing the last selected bookmark (from the bookmark group the navigator is referring to) until another bookmark within that bookmark group is selected. This should persist for any number of other bookmarks (outside of the bookmark group the navigator is referring to) that are selected. Please confirm.

There is a new issue raised in a separate thread below specifically for the Feb 2022 version bug that deselects all bookmarks when using another bookmark outside of the already selected bookmark group:
