devops source control, where are the shortcuts in my lakehouse?
Hi,
I'm testing the Source control integration from Fabric.
my first test: creating a lakehouse, adding some shortcut in it.
then I update my devops source control, I can see my lakehouse in my repository.
but the metadata is empty, (lakehouse.metadata.json file)
I do not see my shortcuts any where in the repository
so how it's managed?
thanks.

Hi @Jerome22 ,
Right now, the Lake houses are created empty. We are working on improving that and getting the definition of the lakehouse to be exported and deployed. It will come in pieces so it will take time until the full definition will become available.
What we recommend to do with current options:
- use data pipelines and notebooks to build the Lakehouse as much as possible. Since they are source controlled and deployed with their definition, you can manage the Lakehouse content and changes by deploying the data pipeline/notebook and running it to apply the changes into the Lakehouse.
- For things that can't be managed through data pipeline/notebook, it will still need to happen manually. It needs to be configured once and then it will not be overridden in later deployments. For example - while working with shortcuts.
Hope this is helpful. Please let me know incase of further queries.

Hi @Jerome22,
It looks like these type of items might be ignored. I am able to reproduce this in my repo, I don't see any shortcuts either after commiting my changes to the repo in DevOps source control.
However, I don't see this type of item mentioned in the list of supported items of the Microsoft Fabric Git integration documentation:
But the shortcuts are also not listed as exceptions, which would be useful if it isn't supported 😅
I share #PowerAutomate and #SharePointOnline content on my Blog, Bluesky profile or Youtube Channel
