Lakehouse query performance problem

I ran the same query on lakehouse sql endpoint with three different capacity with sku 2, 8 and 32 respectively but the query time remained unchanged 15 seconds.
Doesn't scalability affect query time?

@marcoG Thanks for posting your question in Microsoft Fabric Community

Scalability can affect query time, but it depends on various factors such as the size of the data, and the complexity, it also depends on the query, and possible that the query is not optimized for parallel processing  You may need to investigate further to identify the root cause of the performance issue.

If you still have the same issue I suggest reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

the query was simple
Select *
FROM Table
WHERE column LIKE '%XXXXXX%'
so I don't see possible optimizations.

The table was deliberately voluminous, tens of millions of lines.
So why increasing capacity does the query time stay the same?

In Azure synapse pools (Dedicated and Serveless) this does not happen.
So I think there is a scalability issue for both the lakehouse and the microsoft fabric warehouse

Hi Marco,

You can try to enable / change VORDER for your table:
delta-optimization-and-v-order
