Hi everyone.
I have a issue when creating the one lake shortcut to Dataverse without using Fabric link. But I have error message as the image below. I check my role is system adminstrator., fabric workspace is admin.
Dataverse 's region: Australia
Fabric Capacity: Australian East
Please advise.

Hi @henryvo,
This happens because OneLake shortcuts to Dataverse require the Fabric capacity and Dataverse environment to be in the exact same region. In your case, Dataverse is in Australia while Fabric capacity is in Australia East, which Fabric treats as different regions.
To fix this, either
Recreate/assign your Fabric capacity in the same region as your Dataverse environment, or
Use Fabric Link, which is the supported approach for Dataverse integration and avoids this regional restriction.
Since your permissions are already correct (System Admin in Dataverse + Fabric workspace Admin), the root cause is the region mismatch.

Based on my understanding, the minimum requirement to have the Dataverse shortcut is to initially establish the Fabric link ( so that the underlying data is in the form of delta which is the need to set up shortcuts)
