Hi,

Hi @pmscorca

I'll suggest you F4 or F8 or higher license, why becuase...

Let's say if your worksapce assigned to Fabric capapcity license, then you can purchase one premium per user PPU license for developeing and pubshing the Power BI reports into worksapce. Now those who're going to consumiing your Power Bi report( as per your example 5 users), will be able to view Power Bi reports, if they have normal business account(work email).

Now if I come to cost comparison, if you go with F4 or F8 or higher licence will be higher cost and it'll scalable for large audiances.

if you go with 5 PBI pro or premium licenses the cost will be low as compared to F4 or F8 and it's  small teams usage. But this not supportable for fabric work loads.

Think yourself and as per your requirement, you can take the decission.

Pls let me know if it helps you.

Thank you!

Hi, thanks for your reply.

So, about this sample scenario do you suggest to purchase a F4 or F8 or higher SKU plus only one Power BI Pro or premium per user license, ok?

Hi @pmscorca

Yes, if data is reading from Warehouse or lakehouse, I'll suggest you go with this.

Thank you!

So, only one Power BI Pro or premium per user license for development purposes rather than for report use purposes.

Hello,

I have a question regarding Microsoft Fabric licensing and Power BI report sharing.

In the official documentation: https://azure.microsoft.com/pt-br/pricing/details/microsoft-fabric/#faq
it is mentioned that only capacities starting from Fabric F64 allow Free users to view reports published in workspaces associated with that capacity. For smaller SKUs (F2, F4, F8, F16, etc.), the documentation states that consumers still need a Pro or PPU license.

Could you please help me understand this point? Because in some answers here in the forum it was mentioned that having a “normal business account (work email)” would be enough, without requiring a Pro or PPU license.

Thank you in advance for clarifying this matter.

But in the Fabric pricing I can see only the SKU costs and not the Power BI pro or premium per user cost Microsoft Fabric - Pricing | Microsoft Azure

Hi @pmscorca

yes, you'll not able to see Power Bi pricing in fabric SKU's. it doesn;t include PBI pro or per user bcz, it's billed based on capapcity.  You can purchase this PBI license separtley. You can estimate your requirment here Fabric Capacity Estimator | Microsoft Fabric

After purchaing sepearte Power BI license, create workspace and assign that worksapce as Fabric capacity and work on your requirements.

Thank you!

Hi @suparnababu8 , thanks for your reply.

I try to do a recap thinking to a step-by-step purchasing process:

  1. to use Fabric Capacity Estimator | Microsoft Fabric
  2. to see the capacity cost here Microsoft Fabric - Pricing | Microsoft Azure to purchase it
  3. to see the Power BI Pro or Premium-per-user cost here Power BI: Pricing Plan | Microsoft Power Platform to purchase it (one license for one developer, not for report use purposes).

The total cost is due to the Fabric capacity cost plus the Power BI pro or premium-per-user cost.
