F2 SKU Capacity Workspace missing Lakehouse
Lakehouse item is missing in the workspace. Why?
Is there a prerequisite?
The root cause was only certain datacentre supports all types of workloads.
I switched from West India to Central India to get the Lakehouse capability.
Hi dineshuthayakum ,
Looking at the screenshot of your capacity, I can confirm it is provisioned in West India. That is the root cause of the issue.
According to the official Microsoft documentation, India West appears only in the "Power BI only" table, meaning that region exclusively supports Power BI workloads. Lakehouse and all other Data Engineering items are not available there.
Central India does appear in the "All workloads" table, but India West does not.
To fix this, you have two options:
- Recreate the capacity in Central India :the India region that supports all Fabric workloads.
- Use Multi-Geo: keep your tenant in West India but create the capacity in a supported region.
Give it a try and let me know the result!

Hi dineshuthayakum ,
The Lakehouse item not appearing in the workspace is usually caused by one of these:
1. Tenant Setting disabled
Admin Portal → Tenant Settings → Microsoft Fabric → enable "Users can create Fabric items".
2. Workspace not assigned to the F2 capacity
The workspace type must be Fabric capacity pointing to your F2, not PPU or Pro.
Workspace → Settings → License info.If my comment helped solve your question, it would be great if you could like the comment and mark it as the accepted solution. It helps others with the same issue and also motivates me to keep contributing.
