Thankyou, @burakkaragoz and @suparnababu8 for your response.

Hi @tan_thiamhuat,

We appreciate your inquiry raised through the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

The error code 20302, which indicates a user configuration issue, along with the persistent failure you are experiencing, may be resolved by kindly following the steps mentioned below:

  1. Open the Dataflow’s Refresh History in Power BI or the Fabric Workspace to review more detailed logs. Even if you see “JobInstanceStatusFailed,” further specifics may be available in the sub-step logs.
  2. Examine the transformation steps in the Dataflow editor (Power Query). If any steps fail due to schema changes (such as renamed or removed columns), these will be indicated by red error lines.
  3. Try duplicating the dataflow and incrementally removing steps to identify the exact point of failure.
  4. Implement error handling in Power Query using the try...otherwise construct to detect and expose any hidden data issues.
  5. Test the Dataflow independently by running it outside any pipelines, to determine whether the issue lies with the dataflow itself or its integration within a pipeline.

If you find our response helpful, we kindly request you to mark it as the accepted solution and provide kudos. This will assist other community members facing similar issues.

Should you have any further queries, please feel free to contact the Microsoft Fabric community.

Thank you.

Hi @tan_thiamhuat ,

Error code 20302 in Power BI Dataflow typically points to a "User configuration issue." Based on the details you shared, the error message indicates that the Dataflow refresh job failed without providing a detailed error message (JobInstanceStatusFailed).

Here are some possible reasons and steps to troubleshoot:

1. **Check Dataflow Credentials:**
Make sure the credentials for your data sources are up to date and valid. Sometimes expired or invalid credentials can cause this error.

2. **Source Availability:**
Verify that the source tables or files (e.g., FactTable_V2) are accessible and not locked, deleted, or moved.

3. **Gateway Issues:**
If you're using an on-premises data gateway, check that the gateway is online and the connection is healthy.

4. **Query or Schema Changes:**
If there have been recent changes in your source schema or queries, make sure the dataflow steps are still valid.

5. **Dataflow Parameters and Settings:**
Double-check any parameters or configurations you may have set in the dataflow, as misconfiguration can trigger this error.

If you continue to face the issue, try to refresh the dataflow in Power BI Service and review the refresh history for more details. Sometimes, rerunning the job provides a more descriptive error message.

Let me know if you need more help or details on any of these steps!

If my response resolved your query, kindly mark it as the Accepted Solution to assist others. Additionally, I would be grateful for a 'Kudos' if you found my response helpful.

I am clueless about this now, running a couple of times, and the error is persistent.
