I'm looking at building out a lakehouse as my company's datawarehouse due to the ease of use of using power querry. I see that the lakehouse lives in a workspace, but would I be able have reports that live in another workspace access those lakehouse tables?
I do not currently have fabric so I can not test it. If this is a restriction, how do people work around it? Just re-build the same tables in other workspace lakehouse? Does that add a lot of costs?
Hi @mds123 ,
Thanks for using Fabric Community.
Yes you can actually do it by Lakehouse Sharing and Access Permission Management. Please check this blog for few more details - Lakehouse Sharing and Access Permission Management | Microsoft Fabric Blog | Microsoft Fabric
Build reports on the default dataset – allows users to build Power BI on top of the default dataset that references all tables accessible through SQL endpoint.
If above sharing doesn't work then you can also use shorctuts to achieve the required goal.
Please refer below doc to get some idea -

Hope this is helpful. Please do let me know incase of further queries.
Thank you! That's so helpful. So to confirm, I could have a report in one workspace reference the lake house that is stored in another workspace?
Hi @mds123 ,
Yes your understanding is correct. We can have a report in one workspace reference the lake house that is stored in another workspace.
Hope this is helpful.
