Cannot refresh OneLake Explorer

Hello guys,

May I know how to refresh from our OneLake Explorer ? the window explorer like.

Once it is connected, I can see all the workspaces of my Fabric environment, files etc, but after a while it looks not sync anymore, but I cannot find any menu to "Sync from OneLake", as well as I don't know how to sign out, to re-sign in again.

I'm the admin of the Fabric environment.

Thanks

Hi @VoltesDev ,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community,
As suggested by  @pallavi_r  you can follow the steps and succeed in 'Sync from OneLake' and 'sign out and sign in' again.
Here are some reasons why sync fails,
Automatic Sync :
-When you create, update, or delete files using OneLake File Explorer, these changes are automatically synced to the OneLake service.
-However, changes made directly in the Fabric environment  won’t sync automatically to the OneLake File Explorer. You need to manually sync those changes.

Manual Sync Steps:
To update OneLake File Explorer with the latest changes:
-For Specific Files or Folders: In OneLake File Explorer,right-click on the workspace, folder, or file, and select "Sync from OneLake". This will refresh the view for the selected items.
-For All Workspaces: Right-click the OneLake root folder and choose "Sync from OneLake" to pull updates for all connected workspaces.

Sync can fail if:

  • You try to write data to locations where you don’t have write permissions (e.g., the root of a workspace or item).
  • There are limitations in file or folder naming conventions or other issues mentioned in the official documentation.

Check out the Limitations and Considerations for more details.

Refer the following link for a comprehensive understanding of OneLake File Explorer.

Hope these help. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
Please consider accepting as solution for whichever posts help you. A Kudos would be appreciated.

Regards,
Vinay.

Hi @VoltesDev ,

Are you looking for this menu as per the below snapshot. Hope you have downloaded and installed OneLake. Then go to windows explorer, right click on the onelake and click on onelake->Sync from OneLake.

Regarding sign in and sign out, it behaves exactly like one drive and teams. You can right click on OneLake from explorer and Pin to Start or Pin to Quick access. And then from quick access menu bar, Right Click -> Account-> Sign in / sign out.
