tm Access to Power BI Datasets/External Databases

Trying to add an R word cloud in Power BI Desktop using the following example: http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/R-Visuals-word-clouds-and-automatic-removal-of-unique-values/td-p/19726 However, as mentioned in the link the tm package seems to only be able to read data from a local file. The documentation for tm mentions a permanent corpus that can read an "external" database, but the examples online all show a database that is still a file on the local system that can be pointed to and accessed. Since Microsoft owns Power BI and now R it would be nice if this package (tm) could be revisited to allow access to an external data source. Even better, support for accessing a dataset within the Power BI report would be ideal.
