Can we open up Power BI to allow other creative thinkers out there to create new visualizations that can be posted on Power BI dashboard? As long as they have certain parameters (Name, chart types (visualization types), input data, scale, whatever, etc.) they can call API that can draw that visual to be displayed in Power BI. This opens up creative ways to display data and allows Power BI to be extensive and flexible.

What if I want to see statistics on my outlook emails on a dashboard? how many emails I received per day, per week, over last month, group by alias group, etc. # of sent, spams, emails, etc. my quota compared to others, etc. nothing sensitive would show up here, just simple statistics as compared to others who also opt in to have their outlook statistics pulled.

this is something similar to the scroll on the BING.COM homepage toward the bottom. so imagine I am a visitor to a main page where there are many links to other Power BI sites. I can use the quick preview link on the bottom to preview the sites. Also, this can be used in the Power BI Designer where I can quickly preview the Power BI dashboard that I am building before it is being deployed. I want to preview to see what it looks like if I were to deploy the content.

Create an area on a report designer or dashboard for each location or report on the dashboard that if the user clicks on it, it would bring up an Insight window explaining what is on that report/dashboard. What insights can be gained from viewing the data. What are things to watch out for, etc. this allows the report builder / dashboard content organizer to help the user understand the data they visualize. This is nothing more than a popup box with free-form text that allows the report writer to customize the message they want to convey to the consumer of the report content.

My customer requested to have search capability where end user can search using Keyword across all the asset of Power BI – Dashboards, Reports, Data sets, and Queries. They don’t want people to re-invent the wheel and re-create bunch of reports and dashboards. Instead they want to allow to search for it and if its available, they can request access to that report of dashboard to the owner of that report. Similar to SharePoint Online search. Perhaps Azure Search can be part of this capability?

Make analytics drag and drop e.g. - drag and drop a trend line onto to the board. This should be interactive as well - show outliers as a different colour, or the ability to exclude them. - show a little panel that gives you the descriptive statistics, and does a chart call out to show the dispersion (for example).

The relationships of all the tables in power query should stay when changing the database connection. Today, when I try to use existing workbook to connect to other azure db, as soon as I change the connection, all the relationships are gone. It took me half of day to rest all the connections since I have more than 50 DIM and FACT tables.

If multiple tables are imported from SQL Server and relationships exist between those tables (in the database) the very same relationships also get created when you import those tables into Power BI. For OData feeds you can also specify tables and relationships but the relationships are then not created automatically within Power BI. As OData becomes more and more important this would help a lot and bring more services to export their data as OData feed to allow reporting in Power BI.

There is no way to exclude charts from a report-level filter or slicer. This means I can't make charts showing this month's statistics on the same page as trending plots showing how this month compares to previous months. The only way to do it is enable chart filters on each individual chart, which isn't user friendly when someone wants to change which month they're looking at. Any chance we can have the option to choose which charts a slicer or filter applies to, like how it works in normal Excel? This functionality would be useful in both Power BI and PowerView
