Power Query: stop adding "Change Type" steps automatically

Please prevent Power Query from automatically adding "Change Type" steps after loading data from table or splitting a column. Many times it considers the whole column as numeric even when you have text in some cells. I get errors because of this all the time and have to keep removing these automatically added steps.
