Implement into PowerBI & Tabluar & Excel Data Models support for multi language translations

- jm10New MemberSometimes field names , mesures and odata fields are not clear enogth to users who speak language other than that used in the development of the solution based on powerbi. We would like to define distinct names for different languages for each field in a table, measure or odata field .
- vladimir_gonchaNew MemberAt the moment, it is a big pain to use Power BI reports in multilingual companies and countries. As a developer, I need to do a lot of hacks and to duplicate a data model and reports in order to implement multilingual reports. Please add the multi language support to Power BI

The Q&A in Spanish is nice, but something I see as very limited in scope. Sure you could send a team off doing release after release of Q&A in language X, but a lot more people need the basic language translation i.e. Based on the users locale or even changing the language in PowerBI, switch the interface, our model elements, and the data into that language. What I'd like to see is the following: 1. Interface - Allow me to enable language translation for a model and specify one or more languages that I want to translate for. 2. Model - Based on the language(s) selected, give me an interface where I can enter translations for the tables, columns, measures, etc. for each of the languages (which is basically a duplicate of what we have in OLAP cubes). 3. Data - Give me a simple grid with my languages across the top and a drop down that is a column picker for each language that allows me to specify the column to query/display based on my language setting. For example: English pulls the Product column, Spanish pulls the Product_es column, and French pulls the Product_fr column. If you stopped here as a V1 feature, you'd satisfy a large number of people needing language translation capabilities. The majority of the language translation I've come across, people simply have 1 column in the table definition for each language the data needs to be translated into. If you really want to knock yourselves out, you could extend this to: A. Allow someone to specify something like a key-value pair table that would translate the model elements B. Allow me to specify a column in another table where the translated data sits - jdobkowsNew MemberI agree with Michael Hotek translations are very important in data model, customers and developers realy need them.
- LuigiVenturaNew MemberIn my opinion, this is an indispensable feature for projects with multilingual clients.
- luaiNew MemberThis is critical for multilingual support... Please give this feature high priority even for low vote numbers. So many global organizations that work for countries that use different languages need this feature urgently.
- pbiideas1New MemberThis must be implemented. Too bad this ticket is open for two years and no effort done so far. Multi language support in Power BI would be needed, like you can add translations in SSAS. Also, when you connect live to a SSAS model, the ability to load those translations would be appreciated.

Hi Power BI team... Any news regarding this feature... It is really critical... - pbiideas1New MemberThis is a real deal-killer for some large corporations that want to start with Power BI but see no use in single-language reports. Please enable a feature like in SSAS, where you can load translations. Heck, worst-case you can make it a Premium feature and offer your big clients a solution that can be scaled globally.
