The export with current layout option has solved many business requirements that previously involved complex workarounds. However, there is one scenario missing that is noted in the Microsoft documentation.
"If the Switch values to rows formatting option is set to 'On' in Power BI for a table or matrix visual, the visual format would not be preserved when data is exported to Excel."
It would be great to be able to preserve this format when exporting to Excel. This would solve one of the last highly requested export capabilities by end users.

Yes, i am also requesting this function. Please help to have this function to ensure export excel file same format as per power BI.

I agree, this feature would be essential.
I was planning to move all the reports from other report applications to Power BI, but just noticed that this feature is missing. It is going to be a big obstacle in migrating the reports.

Please, this is very frustrating!

100% agreed. I've long noticed this but haven't taken the time to submit the issue. Now seeing that the issue is already submitted, an an Idea, I have voted it up. I see this as an expectation, a bug, not an enhancement. If a user is given an option to export using 'Current Layout' but then is presented with an exported set of data with 'another layout'... well... isn't that a bug? I sure think so. I'd urge attention to getting this fixed.
Related 'Issue' that has been deemed "Delivered", in my opinion, incorrectly:

YES, I agree with what the previous people are saying. This would be very helpful to keep the same format instead of switching the "Values to Row" format. Maybe that could be an option that could be selected if needed but let the "Switching Values to Rows" be FALSE as the default.
This would be a great help to the Power BI Community!!
Thank you for listening to our concerns!

My team supports many partners who export data from our reports to share with their clients. Preserving formatting during the export is a key concern for them and thereby, us. Smoothing out this process would be a significant improvement in our PBI reporting.

I second all the comments already posted. Users are extremely disappointed that this is not avaiable.

A must-do for Microsoft !

Would agree with other comments that this is a bug and not a feature request! “Export data as current layout” but then doesn’t export as current layout at all. Super critical for migrating business reporting and a significant block in getting users on board. Please fix this ASAP!
