Discard Query Changes

The query editor only has two options "Apply Now", and "Apply Later". What if I've messed up my query and never want to apply the changes? Please bring back the ability to discard changes made during the time the query editor was open

I get this as well. I connected to our SQL Server database, entered a query, made the mistake of including an ORDER by statement. The query fails, I get the 'there are pending queries' message, but there's no way I can see to FIX or REMOVE the query. It's just stuck. The only way I can find out of it is to close Power BI without saving changes! This is not acceptable!

It says apply or discard but there's only one button for apply. I don't know what the developers are thinking.

There are other requests to implement Source Change Control. The basis for some of those is a "true" source control, however some of what they are asking is to "recover" from a mistake (such as this request). The votes for those "true" source control should be "added" to this request as this is a "step" towards the issue.

This is unbelievable. I'm new to PowerBI, and while exploring the editor, closed without saving (didn't even think I changed anything). Now I see "There are pending changes in your queries that haven't been applied" and it will not go away. It MAKES me Apply Changes. Come here to find out the is a FEATURE REQUEST????? To quit without saving is a FEATURE REQUEST? And it's been on the books for YEARS? Is Power BI a supported product? Is anyone out there?

A royal pain to not be able to discard changes in the Power BI Desktop client. Here is how I manage this pain.... Under Options, enable "Auto Recovery" and "Keep the last auto recovery version if I close without saving" Now when there changes that should not be applied do the following (since I screwed up) 1. Close PBI Desktop (click on "Don't Save") 2. Open PBI Desktop (Auto recovery contains some recovered files that haven't been opened. Click on "View recovered files") 3. Auto Recovery - Available Files will list the "Recovered.pbix" file with date and time, select it and click "Close" 4. Auto Recovery says "ARE YOU SURE???" 5. Choose "No, remove these files" (I'm not crazy, YOU are PBI Desktop!!!!) and click OK.
