Better Data Label Customization for All Chart Types (Similar to Excel)
In Excel, adding a data label to a specific point is simple—you just click the data point and add the label. This level of flexibility makes it easy to highlight key insights without extra steps.
In Power BI, however, achieving the same result requires creating complex measures or workarounds, which is time-consuming and unintuitive. Why isn’t this functionality part of the Power BI interface?
We should be able to click on a specific point in a line chart, bar chart, or combo chart and add a data label directly, just like in Excel. This would greatly improve usability and allow analysts to quickly emphasize important data points without extensive DAX or formatting tricks.
