powerbi-client-react Report.refresh() throwing undefined error

All of the refresh buttons for our reports have stopped working. Report.reload() works fine but they try/catch for our refresh request hits catch with an error on "undefined".

We're closing GitHub issues on 01/01/2025 · Issue #122 · microsoft/powerbi-client-react suggests to raise the issue here. Is anyone else having this problem or know of a fix?

Hello,

I have done all tests requested. There are no issues refreshing the reports locally nor there are in powerbi.com. The workpace is accessible and correctly configured.

The reports my colleageue is referring to used to work correctly until we updated the components lately and as he mentioned if we use the reload method instead of the refresh it works correctly. We do not want to use the reload method currently as it will have an impact on performances but the fact it's working proves the issue is not within reports or the online service but somewhere in the react components or our use of them.

No. This is on the powerbi-client-react Report.refresh method. When I make the request, it always returns an "undefined" error.

Is your issue that the refresh report button has no effect when used? Or is the button grayed out and not working?
Is this issue on Power BI Service or Power BI Desktop?

If this is a Power BI Service issue, you can download it locally and test if it can be successfully refreshed in Power BI Desktop.

Please check if the credentials of the data source in your semantic model are configured correctly, and what connection mode the data is connected (import/directquery/live connection), and if you need to configure the gateway for refreshing.

Lastly, are your reports in your Personal workspace or App workspace? If in App workspace, can you please ask if your teammates can refresh this report successfully.
