when I do a query in my database I get 13 records. when I do same query in Power BI, I get 12. Can someone help in why that is
happening? How can I fix it?
Hi @Vivo ,
May I ask if you have resolved this issue? Please let us know if you have any further issues, we are happy to help.
Thank you.
Hi @Vivo ,
I just wanted to check if the issue has been resolved on your end, or if you require any further assistance. Please feel free to let us know, we’re happy to help!
Thank you

I look, no filter is applied.
Hi @Vivo ,
Check the visual settings:
Go to your table visual in Power BI.
For each column, click the dropdown arrow and select “Don’t summarize”.
This tells Power BI to display each row exactly as it is without aggregating.
Check Power Query steps:
Open Transform Data → Power Query Editor.
Make sure no “Remove Duplicates” or filters were applied accidentally.
If needed, load all columns to maintain uniqueness.
Verify by adding an index column
In Power Query, you can add an Index Column to ensure each row is unique for visuals.
This guarantees that even fully identical rows are displayed separately.
If you still can't resolve the issue, please provide the sample Pbix file. How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum

Hello,
I'm using an Oracle database. and created the report in Power BI desktop.
Hi @Vivo,
may I ask you to share a bit more information to help you out?
Which database (on-prem, cloud, SQL, no-sql,...)?
With which tool have you queried the database?
With which query and how have you queried the DB from PBI?
Best regards!
Hello, I'm using an Oracle database and Power BI desktop for my report.
@Vivo is suggest looking at the actual records (as they are a handy number) and check out which one is the record missing and if this record is somehow "suspicious". If there is no filter or any Power Query transformation done which hinders the record to not be there it needs to be checked further.
Best regards!
when the records are the same, it's only showing one. I need it to show me all records, even if identical.
Ah ok got it. Then this might be due to implicit GROUP BY in Power BI: If you're using a visual (like a table) without all columns, Power BI automatically aggregates duplicate rows. Check if "Don't summarize" is set for all columns.
ahh, thank you. I will check. you've been a great help.
you think you can help me with another issue?
@Vivo @Sure. Biting it is another topic I recommend openings another thread. As data people we love keep things clean 😉
perfect. will do. thank you
