What is the role of ad group in power bi and why we use it

Hi Experts,

As I am new to power bi and service, I have come across the name AD Group, I just want to know what is it and why we use it.
Note-As per my understanding it's a kinda workspace.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Kousar

AD Group or "mail enabled Active Directory Group" is a way to improve access control to your workspaces. Instead of giving access to individual users you can give access to the AD group. Think about it as outsourcing access management.

There is a concern of oversharing if your AD group is too big or includes too many people that shouldn't really have access. It's a bit of an art to get the AD membership right.
