Using powerbi-client in pure javascript

I have spent several days trying to find a simple example of using powerbi-client in a pure javascript module. No .NET no C# no "look at the docs created from the code"
All I want is something like...

import * as pbiClient from "powerbi-client"

// list available reports

let reports = pbiClient.service.getReports(url, config);

// show a report in a given iframe

let report = pbiClient.Report(required, properties, ...)

// Detect events in the report...

report.addHandler(function)

I have not been able to find anything. I am repeatedly sent to examples written in Visual Studio and C# or sent to the docs generated from typescript or "demos" that dont help.

I can eventually derive how to do it reading the tsdoc for the code with trial and error and guess work ... but thats time consuming and painful.
Does anyone know of any simple examples I can use for reference?
