Unable to create new semantic model

Hi

I have created a fabric lakehouse and created a table but when i try and create a new semantic model no tables appear under the tables section . I am using a free fabric account (trial)

  • Hi tim_goodsell

If you have created a Fabric Lakehouse and tables but don't see any tables when trying to create a new semantic model, here are some things to consider:

    1. Check Workspace and License Limitations:
Free Fabric trial accounts may have limited features or capacity that restrict full semantic model creation or table visibility. Confirm your workspace supports semantic model editing fully.
    2. Ensure Tables are Ingested and Visible in Lakehouse:
Sometimes tables need time or a refresh to appear in the semantic model editor. Verify tables exist in the Lakehouse data view before selecting them in the semantic model.
    3. Explicit Table Selection Required:
When creating a new semantic model, you must select tables from the Lakehouse manually. If no tables are listed, your Lakehouse setup or ingestion might be incomplete.
    4. Review Fabric Trial Limitations:
Trial accounts have capacity and feature caps. See the Fabric trial documentation for details.
    5. Try Workarounds:
Create semantic models in a paid workspace if possible.
Create a new Lakehouse with sample data and test semantic model creation to isolate the issue.
