Unable to create new semantic model
Hi
I have created a fabric lakehouse and created a table but when i try and create a new semantic model no tables appear under the tables section . I am using a free fabric account (trial)
Hi tim_goodsell
If you have created a Fabric Lakehouse and tables but don't see any tables when trying to create a new semantic model, here are some things to consider:
- Check Workspace and License Limitations:
Free Fabric trial accounts may have limited features or capacity that restrict full semantic model creation or table visibility. Confirm your workspace supports semantic model editing fully. - Ensure Tables are Ingested and Visible in Lakehouse:
Sometimes tables need time or a refresh to appear in the semantic model editor. Verify tables exist in the Lakehouse data view before selecting them in the semantic model. - Explicit Table Selection Required:
When creating a new semantic model, you must select tables from the Lakehouse manually. If no tables are listed, your Lakehouse setup or ingestion might be incomplete. - Review Fabric Trial Limitations:
Trial accounts have capacity and feature caps. See the Fabric trial documentation for details. - Try Workarounds:
Create semantic models in a paid workspace if possible.
Create a new Lakehouse with sample data and test semantic model creation to isolate the issue.
