Slicer is not getting the selected value of date

Hi All,

 

The slicer i have used is some powervisual, where If i select it is getting the desired value, but it is not activating into the table and not filtering the value

HI @shabrez,

Did you have relationship to the table? AFAIK, power bi use relationship to apply filter effects. If the source table and fact table does not exist active relationships and interactions(you can turn on the ‘edit interaction’ layout to check them), these filter effects should not work.

In addition, did you mean to use filter/slicer to affect the data model tables? If that is the case, filter/slicer and data model tables are host on the different data level, you can only use filter/slicer to affect the visual level contents and they are not able to filter parent level.

Notice: the data level of power bi(from parent to child level)

Database(external) -> query table(query, custom function, query parameters) -> data model table(table, calculate column/table) -> data view with virtual tables(measure, visual, filter, slicer)
