R version with power BI

Officially, the current version of R supported on Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service is version 3.4.4... Since this version dates back to 2017, is it likely to have a more recent version of R (4.4.3) officially supported by Power BI?

Thanks

"Starting late January/ early February, Power BI service visuals will have additional resources (up to 2 vCores) and will be upgraded to use Python 3.11 and R 4.3.3. We will also update the versions of available libraries to those compatible with these versions of the scripting languages"

Hi @NicoF86 ,

Thank you for highlighting this issue, and thanks to  @Greg_Deckler  & @Deku  for sharing the useful links.

Just to add, you're not alone in raising this concern. Many users have shared similar feedback about the outdated R version in Power BI. Although there’s no official roadmap for updates yet, upvoting related ideas and explaining your use case could encourage Microsoft to prioritize this in future updates.

@NicoF86 There have been quite a few people like Brian Julius that have been complaining about this. I believe there is an Idea out there to get Microsoft to update it but whether it is likely to happen I wouldn't bet on it.
