PowerShell deployment of Power BI project (*.pbip)

Hi,

I am worndering if there is a way to deploy PBI project to a workspace using PowerShell module MicrosoftPowerBIMgmt?

I tried to deploy them using New-PowerBIReport but I am getting an error New-PowerBIReport : Operation returned an invalid status code 'BadRequest'.
If there is no compatible method, is there a way to convert PBIP to PBIX using PowerShell (or other scripting language) to deploy it to Power BI Service?

    HI  Anonymous,

According the document, I suppose this method currently does not support pbix files. It only mentions pbix file instead of all type of power bi files.

Loads a Power BI report from a pbix file and deploys it to the Power BI service. Before you run this command, make sure you log in using Connect-PowerBIServiceAccount.

    New-PowerBIReport (MicrosoftPowerBIMgmt.Reports) | Microsoft Learn

AFAIK, current it does not exist built-in PowerShell cmdlet or module to convert pbip to pbix. You may need to manually do these operations on power bi desktop side.
