Hello,
So I have been searching for a couple of days, information regarding Power BI Pro. But the information i'm finding is confusing and seems to contradict itself alot. I feel as though there was an old Embedded version? Which has now been replaced by Premium, and now we also hae Azure embedded which is separate? EITHER WAY. I will explain what I want, and if someone can jts tell me if its possible and point me in the right direction or to some documentation or examples regarding this specifically that would be great thank you 🙂
Currently we create software for customers within a very specific sector, they are already using Microsoft BI desktop PRO as part of there day-to day lives. We want to take advantage of this and embed a dashboard using Power BI into our application. (User owns data) However, we don't want all the hassle of Azure AD and messing with all of that. is it possible to just build a dashboard, using an API or SDK embed that into our application. So when the customer uses it, they will just login to PRO (if they are not already logged in) and they can see and interact with the dashboard that way.
Currently every documentation/guide I find on this, half-way through will start talking about capacity, and Azure AD etc.. Can I not do this without all of that?
Thank you
A dedicated capcity is required in the following scenarios,
If you are using first-party embedding (user-owns-data), there is no need to purchase a dedicated capcity as long as each user has a Power BI Pro license. Does this answer you question or are there other aspects of Power BI embedding that are not clear yet?
