Personal gateway

Hi all,

I have inhereted a report and it failed to refresh due to authentications of a personal gateway.

I do not wish to create another personal gateway, but I'd like to have a non-personal gateway where anyone could just click 'Edit Credentials' and add their detials.

Awesome strategy. You 100% should minimize personal gateways.

You want to set up an enterprise gateway.

Basics:

You will need to install the gateway on a server and connect it to PowerBI in your enterprise (You will need to be PBI Admin to do so).

Once the gateway is connected, you will need to define the sources that can use the gateway and then assign who can use each gateway. 

Make sure that you use the same strings for connections that you set up in the gateway, and I highly recommend having a service account set up for each connection. 

You will most likely need to redeploy the report(s).
