PBIX report move into Fabric DirectLake- what is the easiest way

What is the easiest way to move existing enterprise PBIX Power BI reports to Fabric DirectLake data model input - w/o having to re-create the reports from scratch.

Hi,  Can u please guide how to load the data from stored procedure into warehouse or lakehouse?

Thank you Liu - yes I have my data in a warehouse in the data lake.

I was wondering what is the easiest way to lift & shift my current Power BI reports - pointing them to the new Semantic model w/o having to re-build the reports step-by-step.

How could I go about that in the best way?

Hi  @aathmer ,

When you want to use Direct Lake mode, you need store your data in Lakehouse or Warehouse.

Please try to create a  Dataflow Gen2 to get data from data source and set the data destination to Lakehouse or Warehouse, then you could use the semantic model from Lakehouse or Warehouse to create report.

There are some requirements for Direct Lake:

Direct Lake is supported on Power BI Premium P and Microsoft Fabric F SKUs only. It's not supported on Power BI Pro, Premium Per User, or Power BI Embedded A/EM SKUs.

Refer to:
