I want to integrate Oracle database for Power BI and have reports canned inside my Web Portal.
One way is to use Power BI Embedded.
Only way I can think of doing Live is using a Pub-Sub using some sort of SSIS replication to SQL Azure and then use that to create reports. What are the alternates?
If I want to use Full Featured Power BI app, there is no way except to global publish. This could have been done there, using Enterprise Gateway direct query; but Single Signon is not supported for custom website on full flashed Power BI version. Website is currently used by both internal and external customers and hence it is important to have single signon.
Developers please chime in your thoughts and also indicate if anything in future roadmap or work can help with this.
Thanks.
Hi pritesho,
You could use direct query and let Power BI (from Azure) connect to your on premise Oracle database directly, and run queries on your database itself. This is supported by the Enterprise Gateway as described here:
I hope that helps.
Cheers!
I was expecting direct answer and not work around.
Anyways - currently it is not supported and only support that is available is for - Azure SQL DB and Azure SQL DW.
