Microsoft EmployeeIs it supported to use metrics usage reports in workspaces for POWER BI Embedded (app owns data)?
hi , is it possible to use metrics report when deploying to POWER BI Embedded with mode "app owns data"? where can i see some example of this metrics already working?
Ive seen this link Monitor usage metrics in workspaces (preview) - Power BI | Microsoft Learn but not sure if someone has already tried or test it with Power BI Embedded, how is the information generated? as there are not users per se , because its the app the one embedding and presenting the reports.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi diegoo,
Perhaps you can try to use 'save as' feature of usage metrics report, then you can customize and embedded it like a common power bi report.

I'm not sure if this functionality (usage reports in workspace) also works for PBI Embedded? I mean is it possible to also track report access when deploying to Embedded and track report consumption there ?
Additionally if the usage metrics are updated from day 1 to day 2, should I follow the same procedure? Generate a copy a work over this (and execute this daily) ? or is there any way of automating this process?

HI diegoo,
When you use 'Save as ' feature, it will create a copy of usage metric report with correspond trace data tables. The report is based on the tracing tables, the content can work with embed environment. For the update part, you do not need to do this copy operation every day, they will update when the backend dataset refreshed.
