Importing data from FileMaker Pro 19

Hi,

What is the recommended way of getting data into PowerBI from Filemaker Pro?

We currently have a filemakepro database running on a 2016 Windows server  and I want to extract the database to PowerBI. Is the solution to retrieve the database with ODBC the only solution?

Hi @Anonymous ,

You can refer the following links to connect to FileMaker via ODBC, hope they can help you connect it successfully in Power BI Desktop.

Filemaker 16 ODBC connect

The following article provides detailed information about where to find ODBC 64-bit filemaker 16 driver and how to install it. You can follow the instructions in this article to create ODBC data source for filemaker 16, then connect to the ODBC data source in Power BI Desktop.

Filemaker Server ODBC issues

I am successful connecting Microsoft BI to a Filemaker database via ODBC. This file is hosted on a Filemaker Server 16 (Windows)

Microsoft Power BI Desktop version: 2.50.4859.502 64-bit (September 2017)

Filemaker Server 16 version: 16.0.1.184

Data refreshes as expected.

Best Regards
