I can see that I am able to export a visualization's data to csv file but can I do it using the API?
I guess I'll have to use this API call but I don't know how to get the query behind the visualization so I can execute it.
Well you can run the Performance Analyzer and refresh the visuals on the page. It will then show you the query. Just keep in mind that the filter context of the visual can change any time.
