When selecting 2 different date year from the date slicers, on the visuals it show Filters & slicers affecting this visual with "OR" rather than "AND".
What can be the issue?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hello @anjan_kumar ,
As shown in the filter pane, the logic uses "OR." For instance, if you select "All Year" in one slicer, it will display as "All," but in the background, it translates to "2024 OR 2023 OR 2022 OR 2025."
Now, let’s assume you have another slicer named "Customer Name," and you select both "Michael" and "Mike." The logic here should not be confused with "AND." Instead, it combines the selections as:
(2024 OR 2023 OR 2022 OR 2025) OR (Michael OR Mike).
Consider a scenario where the dataset suddenly loses all 2024 data. If the logic were "AND," the filter might return blank results(Think of it this way: if the logic were "2024 AND 2025," it would evaluate as "0 AND 1," which equals "0."). However, using "OR" ensures that the selections remain valid as long as at least one condition is met.

Hello @anjan_kumar ,
If we are referring specifically to slicers, there are two different "Edit Interactions" options: "None" and "Filter". This means that when you select a value in your first slicer, it affects the others as a filter (if selected).
For more details about "Edit Interaction," please refer to the following link:

Hi @uzuntasgokberk,
Thanks for replying quickly.
Actually my question is little different. I have attached one screen shot to explain what i mean to ask.
In the attached image, if you see that I have selected year 2024 and 2025 from the Date filter but when i am trying to see the details about FIlters affecting the visual (attached image) it shows Year is 2024 or 2025 which makes confusion.
As i have selected entire year 2024 & 2025 so it should show with "AND" condition, isn't it?
