Export API

Hi

I want to programatically export Power BI reports from the Service to the new PBIP format rather than the traditional PBIX format.

Looking at the API documation linked below it appears the new project format (PBIP) isn't supported as an Export Option.

A similar request to programatically convert from PBIX to PBIP is logged at Microsoft Ideas 

 

Questions:

1) Is my understanding correct?  

2) If so, does anyone know of a workaround (that doesn' involve manually doing this)?

Hey,

Yes, your understanding is correct.

For now you can only download report in PBIX format.

 

And there is no automated way to convert PBIX to PBIP, you would have to use PowerBI desktop to convert those.

Yes, your understanding is correct.
